Jody Alpert Levine, MD

Dr. Jody Alpert Levine is co-owner and co-founder of Plastic Surgery & Dermatology of NYC, a comprehensive facility in Manhattan offering a full range of integrated skin care that caters to the aesthetic needs of the whole family.  Here, Dr. Levine practices medical and surgical dermatology for both pediatric and adult patients. 

Dr. Levine is board certified by the American Academy of Dermatology and the American Academy of Pediatrics.  She is also a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics, the American Academy of Dermatology, the American Society of Dermatologic Surgery, the Society for Pediatric Dermatology, and the American Medical Association.

Dr. Levine graduated from Columbia College with a 4.0 GPA, earning the distinctions of Phi Beta Kappa and Magna Cum Laude.  She then received her M.D. at Yale University School of Medicine, graduating with honors.  Upon graduation, Dr. Levine completed a residency in Pediatrics at The Mount Sinai Medical Center followed by a residency in Dermatology and Dermatologic Surgery at SUNY Downstate Medical Center.  Prior to opening Plastic Surgery and Dermatology of NYC, Dr. Levine worked in private practice in Manhattan.  In addition, she served as Medical Director of a Spa in Brooklyn and Head of Pediatric Dermatology at Montefiore Hospital in the Bronx.

While Dr. Levine has expertise in all areas of dermatology and dermatologic surgery, she specializes in medical and surgical pediatric dermatology as well as adult cosmetic dermatology.  Dr. Levine has advanced expertise in lasers for medical and cosmetic indications.  In addition, she has expertise in Botox, sclerotherapy, and injectable fillers including collagen, Restylane, Radiesse, Juvederm, and Sculptra. 

Dr. Levine has published scholarly papers in prestigious journals including the Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology and the Journal of the American Medical Association.  She is on the Board of Advisors for Parents magazine and has been quoted by many other popular magazines and internet resources.  Please see our media page for further details. 

Dr. Levine believes in an individualized, systemic approach to skin care.  She gathers from her vast experience with medical, surgical and light-based treatments to formulate an effective regimen for each patient.  Dr. Levine firmly believes in educating patients from youth through adulthood on the dangers of outdoor and indoor tanning.  She stresses the importance of sun safety and appropriate skin regimens, capturing the beauty of youthful skin and making it available to patients of all ages. 

Dr. Levine resides in Manhattan with her husband and business partner, Dr. Elie Levine, and their four children.
